How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With photographers and clients as necessary to facilitate a booking (e.g., sharing a client's name and contact info with the photographer they've booked)
  • With Stripe, our payment processor, to handle payments and payouts
  • With identity verification services to verify photographer identity
  • With service providers who help us operate our platform (hosting, email, analytics) - bound by confidentiality agreements
  • When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets - you will be notified if this occurs

Calendar Sync

Photographers may optionally connect an external calendar (such as Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook) by providing a private iCal subscription link. This feature is off by default and only active if you connect a calendar yourself.

What we read: only the start and end times of events on that calendar, so we know when you are unavailable. We do not import or store event titles, descriptions, locations, attendees, guest lists, or attachments.

What we store: the subscription link you provide (treated as a credential and readable only by you and Shuttercat staff who need it for support), and the busy time windows derived from it. Busy windows are replaced each time the calendar is refreshed, which happens automatically about every 30 minutes.

Outbound feed: Shuttercat also generates a private subscription link you can add to your own calendar. It contains the date, time, and reference of your confirmed Shuttercat bookings. Anyone who has that link can view that information, so keep it private. You can disconnect a calendar or stop using the outbound link at any time from your dashboard, which deletes the stored busy times for that calendar.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting privacy@shuttercat.com. Note that some information may be retained for legal or dispute resolution purposes.
